Broach marks. Or the block was blank and restamp but the casting date would be wrong.
I have seen a blank block no engine number and has broach marks. Cheers Jason

Don't worry about x-raying Keith's, as it is not in doubt.... we have been through this before.... The 150 list is well documented, the Dual Cast issue is not..... so I say let them prove their dual cast motors are legit..... I for one would like to see Anthony's SVO engine number ..... Why he put someone elses number up to prove his point is beyond me..... put your own up and let us see how legit your number looks..........

Post a pic mate
Ian,If you or anyone else wants to see my stamping/block and the number 3 on the left hand side it will be on display at Geelong all Holden day next Saturday and Phillip Island in two weeks time on the Sunday......................About the photo,s of the dual cast block 7H3 JP 397 the owner did not know how to put photo,s up and wasn't happy about Byron comment that all dual cast block had there engine numbers painted thats the reason if i have someone,s photo,s or parts i always ask for permission the photo of keith's engine number was send to my via email on 12 November 2015 and asked my opinion.

Only asking because you seem to be the driver behind the Dual Cast Topic... and you are quite capable of posting pics... so just wondering your reluctence to posting a pic of your stamping pad... cover some numbers if you want...
It was nice of your friend to allow you to show his number pad, but he is not the one making the claims on here ..

As are owners of known original single cast date 150 list JP engines or JP engines with a core pattern number other than a 3 not happy with your assertions that their engine blocks are all restamps!

Has anyone got any documentations proving that all jp should have a core 3 number ?
To my knowledge there is no such documentation in existence. The presumption is based on anecdotal evidence and I suspect that any JP block that has a core pattern number other than a 3 has been automatically dismissed as a fake as it does not fit the biased body of evidence..

Definitely gang stamped Peter,
I would like to know the method used too.
How were these engine numbers stamped on the pad, individually, in a jig or in a press ?

Of the listed 150 1973 Bathurst engines, there could be only as few as 950 remaining........

This is the main indicator Dave ....
The broach marks can not be replicated. All the restamps are missing the

Anthony,

I tell ya Adam, it's usually easier just to ditch the whole thread because it turns to crap.... Luckily it was only the last few posts.
Hopefully it stays reasonable!
Otherwise it will be gone!
