Just reading the local rag and someone has lodged an application to the local "Clowncil" for a new speedway to go in at Loves Rd Woongoolba, just a few k's past the Yatala drive-in. It says the assessment process will take many months, let's hope it eventuates.

has been in the wind for a while now with the impending closure of Archerfield which I beleive is the end of this season ( but that could be just a rumour

No its true. Archerfield will be gone. They are trying to get a new track at loves road. There is already a person who started a Facebook page to stop it.

I'm not on FB however I'm guessing the Archerfield International Speedway is closing due to noise and air pollution complaints from nearby residents that moved there years after the Speedway.
