Stunning sheet metal work; you obviously have one hell of an affinity for the medium, (and the patience of a saint)!

Thanks guys really really appreciate your comments.

Yes I will be selling, had a few personal set backs which slowed me down quite a bit.

So yes will be selling, I have gone past prototype tooling and investing in more permanent tooling now. Taking more time than I want but has to be spot on.

The prototype stuff got me so far but not to where I want to be.

I will keep you all posted, I pop in here every week in case you guys have questions about this.

Without number plate recess should be doable slippo. My email is [email protected]

Thanks

Bart

Haven't stopped. Going slow but haven't stopped :)

Thing that takes time is making tooling. The other thing is buying the machinery takes time and money.

I set out to make the rear end panel of the LX Hatch a few years ago. Learn along the way (and I learnt a lot) funny thing is the parts I was focussed on, other people were in need of other parts so quite a few requests came in for “other” parts so it and kept me busy, away from the “full” rear panel. Then I would go back and forth to the full rear panel but couldn’t get my hands on it long enough. I have made some prototypes and I do make tail light areas (to factory or close to factory spec) correct curve, correct profiles, correct overlap joggles ect. I do a lot of research on the factory spec way of making the part (not just fold up on the press brake and away it goes) as some people do. I also do a fair bit of press work which speeds up the process of making the park but takes time making the press tool (which is why I now do full time CNC machining) but that a whole different story.
