Brad. Im no expert but watching that video I think your 60ft times are down due to wheels spin. Combine that with all them gear changes you not where you should be at half track. All the hp and torque is getting you that insane mph with the huge top end charge.
On another note
I constantly read posts about how the mighty Holden red 6's are fast. And I mean ALL the time. Seems most threads have a reference stati g throw the v8 and install a red 6. Probably in excess of 15000 times.
Just so happens I was at the track tonight and watched a XU1 (had fluted guards, stickers and boot spoiler so had to be real) run 15.50 @ 80 something mph
On what frOcking plantet is that fast?
thats funny because I was at the track the other day and saw an SLR mock up running a 308 run low 15s... not particularly impressive, but that doesnt mean there isn't more potential there...
In all seriousness, its not that easy to do good times. Last time I raced, I was up against a r33 skyline with all the fruit. This guy could not seem to get the skyline into the 13s, he pulled low 14s all day. Yet his mph was enough for a low 12 (109).
It really does take a lot of sorting to get a car truly reaching the 400m potential IMO.

here is a vid of the car at Sydney Dragway, hopefully it works. Work connection limits functions so cant do much :(
Just 2 things that I have noted,
When shifting your car nose dives quite noticeably- so you are likely losing forward momentum here. By improving shift speed and keeping the power on I would say you will find a few tenths there.
Also, spinning the wheels on the line can and often does equate to a few extra mph at the end of the track, but the ET suffers. To be honest though, it looked like some runs you were spinning for quite some time and others not as much. Nonetheless, its something to consider. If a car runs 120mph with wheel spin, it will often be more like 115-116mph with a clean launch on slicks, yet the later will always pull the better ET.

No offence, but your "granny" shifting it.
What oil are you using in the trans? You may have to try a few different oils until you find one the box will shift with. Also check that the clutch has enough clearance when the pedal is on the floor, if the plate doesn't have clearance, it will cause a slight drag, not allowing the gearbox to slow enough to shift.

I don't think it's the front nose diving, more the rear squatting down. Independent rear ends tend to absorb the
power rather than directing it straight to the ground, I'd be looking at the rear end setup.

I could be wrong as I am far from an expert, and you are probably right (that its not nose diving, but squatting under power), however I think the end result is the same, if the shift was quick enough it 'should' keep the power on- I imagine this would also keep the turbo happier
BTW I am not one to talk as I need all the help I can get with my technique LOL!

I honestly don't think I could get through the gears any quicker. Whilst it might not shift well at 8500rpm its smooth as butter at 7000rpm, which is when his video was taken. I would love a powerglide behind it but its my partners car and she wont for the life of her pull the 5 speed box out of it!!!!
I would put some slicks on it but that would mean removing the big brake setup to run front runners and not something I really want to do either. ANDRA officials wont even let me test the 60 foot of the car on slicks without front runners which is a shame. I even know them and they know that I am not about to run it out the back door with a mix of radials and cross plys on the car. The car is worth more to me than that!!!!!!
As for the above, there is also no reason I should need to as there are plenty of h pattern cars out there on drag radials that run numbers so no idea why I cant????
Would the suspension movement really cause it to drop a second or more off the ET?

Are you holding the throttle pinned to the floor whilst changing?
(scary, I know, but the limiter will keep things safe should you miss a gear)

No offence to all this banter, that although quite funny, I really don't want to mixed in to as there is always someone quicker than you.
HOWEVER, Warren puts a stop to the 15 second 6 cylinder trait, so doesn't that end the to and frowing?
Just saying????!!!!
Feel free to continue, its funny from where im sitting.

To be honest I am not sure why anyone would be surprised that an xu1 might do low 15s- thats pretty good for a 45 year old car. In saying that, there is also plenty who go much quicker than that with the right mods... although to be honest, if outright power and speed was the aim we wouldnt persist with 202s, lets face it.
I love the 202s though, and I continue to persist, even though it would be oh so easy to throw in a more modern turbo 6 and rip up fantastic times, there would be no reward in that. Anyone can turn a boost controller up and run E85 to compensate poor setup, and a poor volumetric efficiency engine in order to pull great times
