Hey all

I wonder if anyone has seen a wiper motor like this.... labeled Lucas Australia ...maybe from early holden ?? Its in my 48 chev pick-up and it sayes on engineering paper "2 speed self park wiper motor fitted" so i don't think its original 40's/50's chev...

Oh god British Lucas electronics......having flash backs to mini moke and uncles rover... Nooo!

Would of those cars mentioned have had "Australia" stamped on the the unit ?

Thanks for the help.... will have to work out how to remove wiper unit, doesn't look easy !

BMC cars built in Australia back in the 50s, 60s & early 70s had a very high % of local content. Virtually as high of Holdens of the era.

Any Aussie-built Austin, Morris or Leyland would've had locally made Lucas product fitted, while imported Triumphs, Rileys, Jags etc, had English made Lucas items.

Ok appears its a MG/mini/triumph/etc wiper unit, contacts were worn out and collapsed/dragged into gear hence the clicking and blown fuse...
