I thought they were full of shyt. He did say he had them, but only uber expensive brands. The Nitto is a good tyre, and price.

Be careful with the Nitto's, I use them but with the R prefix on the end which is a Drag Radial. Not a good tyre for daily use or the wet, but as a drag radial they are brilliant.

The R versions are not road tyres in reality, for a start they are 3x softer compound than the road going 555. Far different tyre.

The Nitto NT01 is fine for limited road use. But after one track day the tread depth will make it illegal.

No updates on the hatch. The car is just sitting at the shop waiting for the guy to get started still.

On another note, I went to Sandown on the weekend in my MX5. It went well, I came 4th outright and won my class with a best of 1:22.02. I had to leave early, so didn't get a chance to improve. It will do a low 1:21.
To put that into perspective, the best times from improved production race a couple weeks ago were around 1:20.0.

Still on the original 212,000km old engine, bushes etc. I made the wing myself last week, it works awesome.

Still no updates on the hatch. But on the weekend I went to Phillip Island in the MX5 and did a 1:43.8. That is the fastest lap time ever achieved in an MX5. So that makes my car the fastest MX5 in Australia to ever lap the Island. Kind of cool. That time will beat any Group A or C race car.

I would like to start racing. I put this silver car for sale now. I can't really go any faster without upgrading more things, and would rather spend the money elsewhere.
Went again on the weekend to Phillip island, it was ok weather, but not fantastic. I went slightly faster, just need to have less slow cars on the track to give me more laps without traffic.
The WRX Subinats where on the following day, so a lot of the guys where practicing and dialing in there cars. Full on big dollar Time attack WRX's, and only one car beat me.
There was also some uber expenxpsive cars if you look down the list. 😀
