Hi, I see that Rares (RS 1072) are now making the repair section for behind the hinge, together with the backing plate and nuts welded on. Cheers Ron

That's good ' n ' all.......But to remanufacture a problem rust area exactly the same as Holden's $hit design is just stupid - with the knowledge of the reinforce plate collecting road grime and eventually rusting out the engine bay skin you'd think a redesign would of been a far better option.

Did they say they were for LC-J ?
Cause we larger gentlemen don't seem to care as much
Realistically... our car aren't used the same now as they were years ago
Alot less miles and weather... so is a redesign actually necessary ?

Run a bead of seam sealer around the edge of the backing plate, should keep the dirt and moisture out

Sorry I should have mentioned they are listed for LH/LX. If I decide to use them I will do as Brett suggests, just run some sealer around them. I did contemplate replacing the backing plate with flat metal but panel shop suggests using the bent section for better strength. Cheers Ron
