I started the thread as a thread to refer to different engine stampings and perhaps help identify fakes.The truth is Adam you could not pick the difference between a genuine block and a restamped block if your life depended on it. I,ll get it x-rayed is all ways your answer. It was you that started the spotting a restamp thread, so tell me the one on ebay JP251815 is it a restamp or genuine ? Or are you going to call for the X-ray on this one also...............

Is that a restamped one? It has paint on it so I assume it could be, although as I said you are dreaming if you think you can tell for certain anything from pictures.

JP390021 is the one Aldo was talking about in the other thread linked above, this painted one must be the other one mentioned in the thread....Join the dots Skap. I bet this painted one has a second date code and it has one of the claimed you-beaut cast dates. This is probably one of the reasons why its so important that people are forced to think all 150 list engines have a second date code. Funny that 2 x guests and 2 x anonymous users are viewing this thread as I type. I wonder if the VCS is one of them?

Some I don't quite follow here,when you say it has 2 date codes does it have the date code for the actual date it was cast and another false date code set in the future...or in the past ?
