I read some info on this when I was doing some research. It was in a thread from Brad "Hanra" . I don't know how to copy the thread but it is titled Stock 5.0lt air filter assy. Cheers Ron

Pretty sure these show you the difference. See the Holden/Statesman one has the PCV breather attaches at the front where the Torana one is at the rear.
You can also see the oil filler is on opposite sides - I think this is so that the oil filler is on the opposite side to the PCV valve.

The A/C V8 Torana PCV breather attaches to the air cleaner on the passenger side front.

^^As Brad says. This engine uses a unique air cleaner and rocker cover - this is why once LH Torana appeared Holden V8 rocker covers have the round pressing in all 4 x corners so the filler point can move depending if they are fitted to Holden/Statesman, Torana or Torana with A/C.

I thought they were gloss but dont quote me on that
Although it wasn't a matte finish, I don't think it was gloss either Gene. More of a satin finish, like the A9X bonnets.
Something similar to this maybe.

I disagree with the MATTE finish. My NOS Air cleaner housing which was still wrapped up in its box, which admittedly is to suit a V8 Torana with A/C, is GLOSS. I have only re-painted the lid as it was showing signs of age. The body is still original. However the lid is 2 pac, the original finish I assume with using Acrylic? So it dosnt have that glossy finish of 2 pac, but I wouldnt call it a SATIN finish.

The original one off my car is glossier than that.. ('76 build though)

I painted the lid only. The body is original.

I stand corrected. I don't think mine has ever been painted, but I guess after 40 years on top of a motor the sheen disappears. It must be why so many people respray them with the satin finish.
Nice score by the way Brad.
