My new project 6/74 LH SLR5000
to be restored to its former glory
interior 63X

Nice. Body looks very straight.
It may have had a front end crash; that front apron is LX. The LH front apron has the TORANA letters spread across the centre.
The bumper bars will need the rubber strip too.
Will be good to see this restored to its former glory, best of luck

Pretty cool car, a metallic LH SLR5000 with HQ vinyl/cloth trim. One of the not so common combinations. Will look great completed with the Aquamarine metallic with Doeskin/Black trim with cloth inserts.

Definitely not. Only the L34 had flares till they reappeared on the A9X which had wider rear flares.

I wouldn't bother, money is better spent elsewhere. Any 304/308 block will do if you don't have your original.

That's what I was thinking. When you finally find one and spend more than it's worth, you'll probably find it's been overbored too much to restore, has a crack in it, etc.
Of course keep an eye out, leave it till last or in the meantime put in another block to keep you happy.

^^Good advice, leave it till later and if one turns up without having to donate a testicle for it go for it, but don't knock back a cheap QT, 11QT, ZT, 11ZT, VT etc. I've seen good QT's sell for $200 for a whole motor in pieces.

Or a NT block of course :-)

People have wizened up to those though, they don't go for a song anymore.

What about under the battery, or behind the bonnet hinges?
