Yeah I always ask for people to provide proof and no one has. If there was V8 XU1'S in the early 70's who is to say that the cars people saw were not done after being built with smaller engines. Every second LS Holden must have been built by Chevrolet as they all have bow tie badges. Just show me proof I have seen dozens L32 S and SL Torana's, cheers Aaron.

Sorry i didn't have a camera in 1981, but i assure you they exist. 

 

But back on topic. If it's a '76 LH wouldn't it carry a 'CLH' chassis #?

Perhaps the next ADR change hadn't been introduced?

ADR 4C (Seat Belts) 1 Jan 1976.
