It was so hot, all of us got sunburnt.. but still had the best time ever!! Saw one of the holden utes catch on fire, flames up over the roof... lol.. They put it out and all was ok.. Will post pics in the next couple of days..
Police weren't a problem for me again. We went cruising on the Saturday night with no dramas..

What happened to the Autotek Raptor???? It never went out on the Saturday..
My favourite cars were the blown hz blue ute with nitrous, and the other hz black sedan with the blower stack taller than me... wow amazing what $$$ goes into these cars... Pics soon, I have to have them developed and scan them first... lol..

Great to see Guns n Roses, V8racerchic, Liam.W and Stedz all up there spectating too, good to catch up!
Thanks for all the comments about the new Shotgun scoop too! It certainly got some attention over the weekend, I removed the bonnet and fitted it just for the weekend... long term I will get a 2nd bonnet I reckon...
Anyway, it was a very successfull weekend for us Eastside Cruisers, we had 34 cars entered, and bought home about 15 or 16 trophies. Two cars in the Top Ten Judged.. 1st and 2nd in Male Motorkhana, 1st in Female Motorkhana, 1st and 2nd in Female Go-To-Whoa (all us blokes lucked out this year), 1st in Male Spear-A-Spud, 2nd in Ute-Pickup, and one of our girls took out about 6 individual trophies for her immaculate Mazda. It was fantastic. We only managed to take out 2nd place in the top participating car club category though, but not to worry, it just means we'll be going even harder next year! Everyone is already counting down till next year!! It was just one of those weekends we won't forget for ages, everyone had an absolute ball. We also had 2 cars out in the drifting demonstrations throughout the weekend - the blue EB XR6 drift Ford, and the silver XF 'SHHMIK' on the Sunday arvo. Was great to watch them in action!
Les - thank you for putting on another great year at Shep! It was excellent having official electronic timing for the events this year.... and everyone I've spoken with agrees that the police presence was down this year, and no problems at all for anyone that I've heard from. I really believe things are starting to turn around again...
We also took my hatchback in the supercruise again this year.... pity it was such a small turnout and not many hard-core cars getting involved... but I guess it's hard when they're all on trailers with no exhaust systems fitted etc.... how about next year everyone is allowed to drive through town in the supercruise with loud open exhausts, superchargers, slicks, no bonnets etc.. get all the show cars involved... that would rock!!! (If only......!!!)
Overall, great fun, see ya there again next year! If anyone out there is looking for an event to drive the wheels off your car all weekend, get your ass to Shep next year!!! It's a real driver's event, and of course great for the spectators too. Les and his team do a ripper of a job, TOP STUFF

PS. Cheers for all the pics Liam.W! Keep em coming anyone else who has more!
Cheers,
Brett.

But the highlight of the weekend was getting a ride in a couple of cars and also seeing brett stevens doing the burnout. he went right in front of me and my ears were so bloody close to popping.

i had an absolute ball this year, it beat last year when i took my car up and it played up on me whole weekend.
This year i co entered bretts blue beast, and the only problem i had was getting the keys back off brett each time. He kept insisting we share evenly, and have equal turns, NOT FAIR!!! id do a run, be all pumped up, move the car up and then hed go, MY TURN!! how rude!
it was just awesome hearing the comments people would yell out when i was driving it, must watch some video footage soon that my bro took. Aparently when i went out, some guys yelled out next to my bro " i cant believe they let a chic drive that" or somethng along those lines, so he kindly put recorder on pause to let them know im his sis. hehe
i was stoked to find on the sunday that i made it into the finals, coming 4th fastest in girls to qualify. to come anywhere near some of those chics who have done it heaps of times before was just an awesome feeling. sadly, i tended to do my fastest time on my first laps so in finals did my best time in the practise lap and then was quite slower later on. DOH.
brett what are you buying me for my rana next year? afterall the scoop is mine, the 15x10s are also mine according to you. hehe.
