It comes down to you imagination.
I have seen many hotrods with them mounted sideways on a common shaft, tucked in under the extractors. This way it still keeps the leads as short as possible.
I will see if I can get a photo to show what I mean. This was done on my brothers '29

This is one idea
And with a bracket like the one below, as I said above, you can put them anywhere you can imagine

thanks guys. Yeah that where i was thinking (under the fenders) that is where the current ice coil is. The sparky said he would prefer closer but sometimes aesthetics rules over function. Im running a vt 355 LS1 TAXI so no coil cover options there.

And the Mark's Workshop "A9XII" had the coil packs mounted over the K-member holes (on an LS7)...

Cool dude. Your bay is sweet.
I thought you might've been ditching the plastic for LS goodness? LOL

this is my stepping stone. Havent really enjoyed the motor yet as the carby is giving me constant headaches so want to enjoy it first and build a LS slowly but i will go a whipple probably so will need to redo driveline.
the under extractor mounts look like an option, cheers bigfella. Will they mind the heat there?

Dunno, I had the same thought myself, I reckon you'd have problems more with the wiring than the coils themselves?
I guess it would depend on the design of the headers and how much room you have, if possible I'd be trying to fit some kind of heat shield or at least coat or wrap the pipes?

I had a Harrop coil relocation kit on my VE SSV but it doesn't really hide them, just moves them so you can have a nice looking rocker cover:
I can't find this set-up on their webpage anymore and so maybe is has been deleted?
Harrop: https://www.harrop.c...ve-performance/
I can recall, it wasn't cheap however, especially when considering all it amounted to was some bent thin gauge stainless steel as brackets, a few bolts to mount the coils inside the brackets and some ignition wires.
But there are umpteen LS engine series rocker covers which integrate the coil packs and remove them from sight whilst remaining in situ, meaning you don't need to find other places to hide them nor craft a way to heat shield them.
Just Google: coil pack LS hidden rocker covers and look at the 'images' tab as well as the 'all' tab - heaps to see and read.
None are cheap, especially the integrated Harrop one at $1155.00!!!

The covers are a bit harder to come by for them

There may be a lot of covers to suit LS coils and rocker covers. He is going to use the LS coils on an injected 308.
The covers are a bit harder to come by for them
Ah, I get it.
I was confused.
He (LX355SLR) said previously: "Im running a vt 355 LS1 TAXI so no coil cover options there".
I assume therefore he meant to say he has a 304 stroked out to 355 Holden engine from VT Series I as opposed to the LS1 from VT Series II.
Why he referenced his engine to be a LS1 is unclear - no biggie.
My bad, but I only went by what was said by him and was just throwing some stuff up to perhaps help.
Thanks for straightening that out.
Cheers, TB

Leads under pipes and through firewall into cabin on each side. Mounted on a rack out of the way of water, heat oil etc.
