My beloved LC Torana has a 186, twin exhaust, B&M Shifter, Nice paint but need Rust cut out in the Sill Panel on driver side hole bout 7cm long....Pillar on drivers side has rust and then there are 4 other little spots.....

I just want to sell the body and keep the engine cos it has a mild cam and i want to keep the twin exhaust and also wheels (Sprintmaster)

1. Do the panel course at night at TAFE - non-certificate Adult Education type course.
2. Buy a shitbox car for your daily driver.
3. Fix up the rana.

It's an old car, i.e. you can't buy many replacement/repair panels anymore, so it's a back to basics (read time consuming) panel repair.

Just for inspiration, I don't know that your car is this bad, but this is what a dude managed who did a similar night course in Automotive Restoration that I did. You'd be amazed how easy, yet time consuming, it is:-

Hope that provides some inspiration.

Put your hand up for every welding job that comes into your shop.
You'll learn fast by trial and error on other peoples cars. :spoton:

^What he said. Welding is one of those things you just need to know, once you can weld you'll have enough skills to do whatever you need on your car (including custom work and smoothing). If you have the resources and the time, get out and practice with a couple of bits of old steel, that's how i learnt (apart from the Cert III)...

Cheers
Keith
