Brett, just realised that our car club is having Christmas bbq that day so won't be able to bring the wagon. Hope it goes well and you get a good turnout, paul

No stress Paul. These are pretty casual days at Autobarn where people come and go as they please. Enjoy the Christmas bbq mate!

Hi guys,

Autobarn have put out a flyer containing 4 weeks worth of activities throughout November as they celebrate their 10th Birthday. Check it out, there's lots of cool stuff coming up you may be interested in. The most important one of course is our car show on Sun 20th Nov! It's 100% locked in now, and ready to proceed. It'll be worth coming down, with giveaways, in-store discounts, and also a "mystery discount" for the first 50 people through the door.

They stuffed up the car show wording though, LOL. Don't you love how sometimes things we say are just in one ear and out the other. I specifically told them on 2 separate occasions this is a "GMH-Torana Forum based day + friends". They know I'm associated with Eastside Cruisers too, but when asked, I also said this is not an Eastside Cruisers event. The net result of both these things is now listed as "Check out some of the great cars from the Torana club and Eastside Cruisers", hahaha. Oh well, it's all good advertising.

Any more people interested in coming down? I've worded up a few mates with cool cars, and there seems to be plenty of interest.

Autobarn_10_Year_Celebration_Flyer_2016.

Cheers,

Brett.

Nice of Grant to offer up his 2 cars for advertising  :D

I'll see you there Brett. Will hope to be there by 10am, not sure in what car yet.

I was more than happy for them to use any photos of my cars, quite proud of the fact they used both. What a draw card!!! (Hehe only kidding)

I will definitely be there with both cars and at minimum of an extra two in tow.

I have taken a screen shot of the poster to send out to people I know to help spread the word.

Well done Brett, hope the weather is on your side

Only a couple of weeks to go guys. Shaping up good so far, quite a few mates planning to attend as well. The crew at Eastside have offered to bring down their marquee which will help with shade (should it turn out to be sunny). I might bring down another of my own too.

To assist with claiming the carpark for ourselves, I'll be arriving no later than 8.30. I would like any super keen people to be there by 9 if possible. We'll try to block off as much space as possible, and as other cars arrive they can simply slot in.

As I've mentioned though, people are free to come and go as they please. If we can maintain the peak of the show from approx 10am - 2pm though that'd be cool and good for both Autobarn and spectators. Hopefully quite a few will stay later too (especially anyone who can only do the arvo shift!).

Feel free to drag along friends with interesting cars.

Cheers,
Brett.

Good stuff Brett. Good thing you didn't have it scheduled for this weekend, the weather looks crap.

Yeah they reckon 25 and sunny, picture perfect!

It should be a good turnout. A handful from the forums here, a handful from Eastside, a handful of mates etc... Many are continuing to spread the word, so it all depends on how many "mates of mates" tag along! The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers.

To be honest I'm hopeing to see one of Rexy's Toranas. Any one would be great, but his hatch parked next to mine would be great!!

Unfortunate Steve, I had a set of rocker covers for you. I'll be up that way soon so I'll catch up with you soon.

I'll be running late. Gotta get something fixed in the morning on the car.

Brett, great to meet you today and thanks for organising the get together, ripper day for it! Can you please thank autobarn for the oil give away which was a very generous gesture and greatly appreciated. Is it ok if I go to you next club meeting to organise joining or is it members only? Thanks again Paul. (HR Wagon, LC triples)

Paul I think I just missed you.
If I'm not wrong I drove in as you drive out. You were at the lights when I drove past in my hatch and my wife behind in the LC followed by a HQ Coup

Was a great display of tough cars. :)
Shame I had to bail early. :(

Nearly broke my back hauling furniture upstairs. :(

Thanks to all who attended. Quality of the cars and company was fantastic.

As expected, it was a bit of a moving display throughout the day (which I love because it's cool seeing new cars coming and going). It was different literally every hour. But greatly appreciated to all who took part.

Paul - I agree - Autobarn were super generous in handing out free oil vouchers to anyone who bought along a car. You could pick any Castrol or Penrite 5L product, and I know some people walked out with ones worth between $60 - $80, free of charge. Now that's what I call the best goodie bag ever!! Autobarn were struggling to keep up with the moving display - so apologies to anyone who missed out. PS to Paul - absolutely mate, will catch you at the next meeting if you're keen - all welcome. It's Tues night coming by the way! And also - what a great looking HR mate.... such a cool ride.

Anyway - I have a heap of photos to post up.... here's a start.....

Some sweet hatches... Grant, your car glows!

Out with one hatch, in with another....

The red LC above is another forum member - sorry I'm absolutely shocking with names when meeting new people. Sweet looking car, it's a wicked red, but the photos don't so it any justice at all.
