If the 'paid' membership doesn't happen what about a donation thread? I would be more than happy to 'make a donation' so to speak. Although the donations may not be much at least its something towards the costs as I struggle to see how its fair one person foots the bill for no financial gain?
Daz. Unless you leave Mexico then no mod for you!

I thought the Mexico thing was the show stopper?
You could try the feeling entitled angle?

This might be a silly idea , but since i think there was a post about open to suggestions , how about something in the for sales that
has been sold so that the OPer can somehow "mark" the thread with a "sold" icon or with "SOLD" under the icon , the same could be done with the wanted section with a "FOUND" ?

It's a great idea and many forums give the OP the option to edit the title so once the item sells they simply edit the title of first post and put [SOLD] before the rest of the title.

This is the only forum I'm a member of where you can't edit posts after 10-15 min.
It has always been like that since the very early days so people can't back pedal and edit posts later
With newer forum software other than the shit software we use, you can have version history... but i think the aim is to stick with this software that virtually no large-ish forums use anymore

And the layout of other forums that I have looked at over the years is boring as bat shit, so if the shit software that GMH Torana runs on is what makes it look and feel so great and user friendly then I vote we keep it.
So you can't edit your post after 15 mins has elapsed from the time of posting, big deal.

That's not necessarily a good thing. People change their minds and who here hasn't been hot tempered and wish they could take back what was said?
Most forums however do leave a trace saying 'this post has been edited' at the bottom of the post so if a thread doesn't make sense you can sense there may have been heated discussion and nobody really wants to read that drivel anyway.
The option to go back and delete your posts would be good too

I think that's set by the admin, not the software.

Note: I am not against that feature!
Posted 15 October 2016 - 11:57 AM
The feature of editing posts is particularly good for For Sale sections of the forum. Once an item is sold the seller can edit the thread, but instead we have to send a message to a mod so they can then edit it.
I like the way this forum looks but it could be so much better with a few minor tweaks.

People work and have lives away from the forum plus the upgrade is being done on the side, so please be patient.
Just about every thread goes off topic and this is one of the many reasons people leave.
