Mercs, veedubs, peugeots etc. Surely you would pick another colour?

Starting to notice a lot of gunmetal grey too.
Seems to be the carbon black of the new generation

Max Wilson's descendants must be in the car game. He loved his brown with brown vinyl roof and brown trim HQ's. The Company made at least three GTS 350's for him in that combo.

Terry is spot on. My HJ Premier is called Sepia, but it looks black/brown in the shade. My HG GTS350 is Florentine Gold Metallic - looks awfully brown to me.

I don't get it either.
Hyundai even has a flat non metallic grey that looks the spitting image of acrylic primer. Young guys are going nuts over it the sick bastards.

G'day All
Yes, todays car colours are very bland, black, silver, white so when we were on our 2009 Tassie Torana Tour, it wasn't hard to pick out our Mandarin Red and Absynth Yellow Toranas
AND when we parked outside of Holden's Fishermens Bend Plant in Melbourne, they stuck out like a pimple on a bum

It will catch on fire shortly.
It's not just the euros, Mazda have a metallic brown and so does Lexus.
I don't get it either.

Yeah to me it looks like primer with clear coat over the top.

It doesn't look too bad in this light.
It's not brown, it's Champagne mud pool.
Ha! Love it.
Yeah manufacturers are looking at colours that separate from the last range to give the impression of being modern. I've noticed the cycles too, in the late 80's I recall looking over the rooftop carpark at Westfield's and most of the cars were red, then came silver. Similar with TV's, Stereo's, etc. they went from woodgrain to silver to black.
I guess brown can look okay with a nice gold fleck through it but yeah, not for me.

I think Mythbusters confirmed that you can polish a turd, but not everyone would want to...
