Gday i know not torana but trying to get the word out.
A friends 69 targa camaro race car was stolen, 6th december, near the perth airport.
is unlicensed, was fitted with a texas no. Plate
May still have targa stickers fitted.
It is a one off car, highly modified, mostly one off parts fitted to this.
Any info could you please pass on.
As you guys can imagine owner is fairly upset.

Owner is still hopeful.
Most parts on this car can be tracked back to this car and most will only fit this car, it is very one off, built to very high standard.

I guess as long as the word is out, I'm sure they'd know to call the cops.

If he went via Sawyers Valley he is heading for Kalgoorlie or somewhere in that direction.

There aren't that many places it could be

This is still possibly in WA

No good news.
They(police) believe the car was put on a truck in northam then taken to the east coast.
They also believe they know who did the job but cant pin it.

Be a difficuilt car to move, if it was to pop up in a workshop or at a track, any switched on person would be asking were it came from and who did the build.
Stock on the outside, extremely modified underneath.

From another forum:

Turns out this car has been recovered after being found in a sea-container.  Cops did a raid on a property here for drug related reasons and found it, has been kept pretty untouched by the look of it, just de-stickered.....

hopefully it will find it's way back to the owner soon........

Yes it has, good news.
negotiations are under way between insurance company and the owner, as he was paid out on his claim.
They need to assess the car for damage.

Yeah they need to start seriously punishing car thieves, they cause so much pain to the community and must cost the police, insurance companies and individuals a sh!tload. At least this gives us an insight into what happens with some cars that are stolen for profit.

Dare I ask how the "Negotiations are going" with the insurance co ?Is it looking like we all need to ring our insurance company and apply the blowtorch again or are they behaving a little better than the Go GGo co did  ?

Yeah they need to start seriously punishing car thieves

... as well as everyone else up the chain. With this one on a sea container it was likely headed overseas; this usually happens to the high end stolen cars. This thief was well connected to an organised crime ring, not his first rodeo. Anyone involved with this should be heavily punished.
