Its a right c#nt act that it happened. No doubt about it.

By WTF??! no insurance?
If you cant afford the insurance then simple it stays in the shed.
Its far to risky.

And ive been on the end of a no insurance situation before.
Prick hit my car and totalled it. $15k all toll (daily) i got out and said.
Everyone ok?

- yep

Cool. Who's your insurance with.

- dont have any.
Dont have a license either so cant give you that.

F#CK!!! and because it was unreg. Unisured and un licensed my insurance company at the time walked away from it. (Stupidly i only had 3rd party fire. Learnt a valuable lesson from that)

So i got $15 a week for 3 weeks and then he f#cked off interstate.

Thats why people get pissed about hearing of uninsured cars.

Its a car cruise. there will be others.
Wait. Save ya $$$ and make sure it insured and reg. Then cruise it.

Its why mine was at home (no $$ for reg)
But its insured 24/7 - 365 days a year regardless.

If the go fund me was for help with injuries. Sure no problem.
But to help rebuild a car for them.
Where's the lesson?
Stuff up and people will bail you out isn't a good life lesson.

Sure i may sound like a c#nt. But ive learnt the hard way and nobody has ever helped me out. And it wasn't even my fault. It did teach me to always be prepared as well as can be.
And make sure i have full comp. And can afford to drive my car.
If it means it sits in the shed while i sort bills/mortgage etc out then fine.
But I'll only drive it when everything is right.

Imagine the conversations we would be having if that uninsured HQ went up the back of a nice Monaro or A9X.

Looks like either a dodgy tail shaft or tey had something g up front with big mumbo.

Either way, no insurance is terribly silly.

I may stand alone with this, but I'm sick and tired of everything getting a fundraiser on social media. People need to deal with their own losses

My thoughts exactly, it is really a shame what happened but having the cheek to ask people to pay for their stupidity of not having insurance is just having more front than myer. Maybe all of us should start fundme pages for people to sponsor our projects LOL

We are one of the highest ranking giving countries in the world... But if you have highway collectors at every intersection asking for money just how much can you keep on giving when most of us aren't exactly rich.

Yeah just ask the tax payer about the guys with 4 wifes getting 4 seperate pensions or the drug addicts or alcoholics getting a free ride because they chose that path or the single mums with 6 kids to 6 different fathers and so on..... all this guy is guilty of is no insurance and yes i know it was stupid but lets hope it's a big learning curve for him but i will still offer to help and im by no means rich....

im just curious if this guy wasn't driving the car and it burnt to the ground in his shed would people's attitude still be so negative???

Poor buggers - that would hurt but as long as they are happy to self insure then they have to accept the consequences.  If you can afford to self insure, some insurances are a waste of money.

At the end of the day insurance won't cover the sentimental value and time spent on your passion regardless.

I do not want to start anything else & it is just my opinion but when you talk about drug addicts Daz, it may cost a heap but it stops your family, mine or other's houses from being robbed for a score & cuts down on some crime, so I'm happy to pay for that. Single mother's with the intention of doing the right thing for the children's welfare, at all times i do not have an issue with, as far as im concerned if you have children for any reason other than because the 2 of you choose to love & support them always, then you shouldn't have any. & Daz i know plenty of people as well who just use you when they need to, sooner or later you will help the people who do appreciate & deserve it. & you can sleep with the thought that you did do what you think is right. It's time the world lost the "it's all about me attitude" & helped each other out & if anyone can't afford to help financially, there's moral support & thank you says a lot & costs you nothing. The 1 thing i like if i help anyone is just a simple thank you. It's like $100 in the hand. I personally think it's great that you help other's. Gary.

There is every chance that if the diff locked up at highway speed then a tailshaft may twist itself like that

Piquet, the picture of the tailshaft seems to add weight to your assumption. I think your are on the right track to explain the failure (excluding a burnout).

Hey Daz, yeah i hope what i said came out right & you knew that i was in a long story saying that at least when help out many people as you do, in the end you will be giving help to those who do deserve & appreciate. Sometimes they make up for the 1's that don't. I'm very similar, been burnt plenty of times as well, but it is nice to feel that you have made a difference to someone's situation. Gary.

Going back a bit...I'm with 8 ball and Kiwi. If you drive without insurance you are irresponsible and deserve what you get. Get off your high horse Bullit, Australia is not going to shit because the responsible people choose not to help the irresponsible. Thank God third party personal insurance is mandatory so that our wives and kids are covered against these retards.
