Why have you only underlined part of that statement Dave?
His pen ran out of ink.

You're a clever fella Rob, I'm sure you will work it out.

Regarding the understanding of Holden Doco - what would the purpose of this book be?
It seems to be just a list of part numbers, the book is called "GM P&A Left Aligned Fast Mooving part number sequence".
( theres about 40-50- pages)
I dont understand ( probably just dumb) what it would be used for?
if you have a part with a number, well, you already have the number?
if you have a part with no number, well, theres no number?
if you have a part and wonder what its for, this wont help, as its just numbers with no x reference to anything else?
if you need part number xxxx for model yyy, this wont help either?
Is it just to confirm that the bloke on the phone who swears he needs part number xx for his 1977 Holden xxx ...is actually speaking sense? i.e. that there is such a number within GM P&A?
Thanks

Maybe just a reference of part numbers.. So when they add a new part number, they have a library of previous numbers ........ other than that I have no fuking idea ..

Hi Col, I haven't seen such a catalogue before so I had to phone a friend.
Apparently the "Left Aligned Fast Moving Part Number" catalogues were a GM America idea. Apparently they were used in conjunction with the Spare Parts catalogues to aid with stock ordering decisions.
My friend says it was one of those publications that got put on the bottom shelf of the spare parts counter and saw very little use.
