I am still shocked that the rooms sold out so fast.  Some of our members missed the boat and don't have a room.  We told everyone to get in early too.

I'm not Gerry, no Fest for 2 years has had me chomping at the bit to go again and I was lucky enough a mate from Tassie gave me the heads-up early enough for me to get a room

As far as "Some of our members missed the boat and don't have a room. We told everyone to get in early too"

You can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink

Unfortunately that happens in most clubs

You have the workers and the followers

Sounds like it's going to be a big event with the two motels booked out straightaway.

Just hope people get accomodation in the other options posted on fb the other day. Be a shame of people didn't or can't go cos they couldn't get a room.

Hi All,

The interest in Toranafest this years has been nothing short of amazing!

As at Wed this week, we so far have, 85 Entrants. When you compare that to 2015 (we had 20 at the same time) we are on track for a huge year!

With regards to the Motels, the first two that we recommended were sold out in 72 hours. That is crazy!

For those that missed the first two motels, have you tried the others that we recommended?

There are a number of other motels around that we suggest people try. Those being;

Maitland Monte Pio
Molly Morgan Motor Inn
Best Western Endeavour Motel, and
Best Western, Hunter Gateway.

All of the above motels are in close proximity to where the Fri and Sat night functions will be and the Club will do shuttle runs between the motels and the Club.

cheers

Mick

Paul,

just so you know, at Motto Farm Motel there was 78 rooms.

At the Ol' Maitland inn and the Maitland City Motel, there was a combined 75 rooms.

Word has it that the others are being booked too.

As we all know, if people leave it to the last minute they will have to look further out.

cheers

Mick

:iagree:  Words of wisdom from Mick and you can be assured of another GREAT time at Toranafest

Will be doing the same ol' cruise to the Fest from Cootamundra leaving Friday 7am arriving Maccas South Goulburn 'bout 9

Leave Goulburn 'bout 9.15 stop on M7 (Westlink) truck stop 'bout 11am and meet up with Sydney Torana Club

Leave truck stop 'bout 11.15 - 11.30 and stop at Wyong Twin Servo on Newcastle Freeway 'bout 1.30pm

Have lunch then leave 'bout 2pm for our Maitland accommodation destination

Been doing this cruise to Toranafest since 2008, works in well with a lot of others so no need to change that format

RegardSS ..... Barry

Relax Barry, TF is still some four months off.

The pace, interest and excitement will pick up, as it always does.

Having said that, like you I am already casting my mind to it and a bit 'Big Kev' about it all.

Cheers, TB

G'day Craig

I've had some very good times at Toranafest since 2008 and made some great friends like bubble boy, Geno, Keefie etc and no doubt will make some more

BUT I do have a problem, remembering their names, so the word "mate" comes out often when I reply to them  :D

At my age, I'd like to see a few more Toranafests, so every one I attend is a bonus
