The tags and the block are important but not the whole story as there are many indicators that a car left the factory as an XU1 or not.
The advert seems pretty straight up to me but if you are planning on spending $30k then check, check, check, cheque - in that order.
Nice looking car in the pictures but as you are clearly being asked to pay a little extra because its an XU1 then simply do some more physical investigation.
For a minute just forget the fact there are claims to it being an XU1 - a good quality tidy two door LC XU1 replica is going to be worth what? Maybe $20-25K?
So its not much above a non-genuine car anyhow so overall it seems good value.
And if it had all matching numbers/block etc etc and was in that condition then whats it going to sell for in June 2011? Maybe $40-45k?
So you are getting a $10-15k lower price than if it was 100% right.
Adam I know that you watch prices pretty closely and have a handle on this stuff. Do you think that's a reasonable summary of pricing?
yeah agreed.... but all original I would have thought more that 40-45 if it is a CK...BUT there are some XU-1's around at not far from that price, although LJ's. and they are still for sale, so in the end will probably go in the 40's.
