The VIN 82911CL175741 relates to an Adelaide built GTR completed on 14/5/71 and sold by dealer 858 in WA during Sept '71. There is no engine number listed. The orginal colour was Lina Mint and the trim was black vinyl. The Chassis Number LC29030A and Body Number 3358-A are both consistant with the build date.

Hi I have. Ona lc 2 door it has been done up to look like a xu1 has all the right interior n stuff and got told it was a genuine gtr but not sure... Hope some one can help as we are about to restore it.. It only has a adr tag and number on the lh inner gard one on the rail is LC106IB. And the date is 10/70. Any help would b really great thanks...

G'day guys & gals,
I'm new to this forum.....seems like there is a wealth of knowledge here....well done.
I'm currently looking at buying an LJ GTR which is not currently registered, but was last registered in Victoria and is supposedly a 2 owner. I'm in WA, so it's a bit scarey to buy something from distance without verification.
I have been sent photos of the ID tags which are as follows:
Body ID
LJ 82911
Body No 1 - A
Trim 1832 - 40 Y
Paint 567-13127
Compliance Plate

Skinny Tag

The car has apparently been verified by the Vic Torana Club (to the current owners) as being genuine, but I am a little nervous as the compliance plate is attached to the vehicle by 2 gutter bolts!
I haven't asked the seller (yet) to provide me with the actual body number stamped on the inner guard or the engine number. The photo does show that the motor is a 3300.
Look forward to a reply via the forum or PM.

Hey Guys looking for some info on an LC two door that a mate has it's body number stamped into the guard is lc17221a the body id plate is lc 82311 and body number 2283ai he also has another plate that he has that has 82311c j24c182.
I've not seen the car as he asked me about all of this over the phone so I don't know what tags are supposed to go where. Any info would be helpfull

From the info given - it looks like an S Model 2 door completed in Melbourne on 31/8/70 and sold during 12/70 by WInter and Taylor P/L of Geelong Vic. It was orginally fitted with a 161 engine, 3 speed transmission and a 3.08:1 conventional differential.

Hi i was just wondering what my tags are on my gtr the nubers are model lj 82911 body no 301376b just wanting to know its odd because i can only read the last 2 numbers but if i turn the plate over i can read the rest any help would be apreciated thanks?

The vehicle with Body Number 301376-B was completed on 14/12/73 and sold by dealer 626 during Feb '74. Do you have a Chassis Number and Paint Code?
