Can you please check the VIN as there is no entry for 82911CH163235.

Also check the 42Y as this denotes red vinyl with black and white houndstooth inserts. The body colour is Platinum Metallic.

Hi LC-069

That VIN is actually 82911CJ202486. It appears as a GTR completed in Melbourne on 8 Nov '69 and sold by Blanchard Motors P/L, Princes Hwy, Springvale Vic during Jan '70. The engine number is not recorded but would have been in the 2600S5xxx to 6xxx range.

The original colour was Daytona Bronze Metallic and the trim Antique Gold vinyl.

The tag details all accord datewise.

The car is advertised on gumtree at the moment.
She's needs a bit of work done to her.
I'm curious to know if it's a real gtr or a fake with the gtr plates. Do any people here know of this car.

Lots of discussion on this car in the items on ebay thread. The tags having been removed don't matter; even if the tags on a car have the 'original style' rivets, they could have been changed (it is possible using rivets from a wreck). The only thing that matters is a thorough check by someone who knows the cars. There are a some areas to pay particular attention to, like the throttle bracket, position of the badges on the quarters and a few other things.

Ok so I'm looking at having a good crack at buying this car and bringing it back to Perth.

Problem is, Kununurra is a long way away, which makes it difficult for me to get there to view it.

Can anyone see anything that suggests it may not be genuine?

Does anyone know the car?

And is anyone up there and can maybe give it the once over for me?

If he's willing to have a local put it on a hoist and inspect it....I have a mate in Kun that runs Kun 4WD

I can call Dustin and see if he's willing to take a look for you

Don't know what he knows about Toranas... but I'm sure he knows mechanicals and rust fairly well

potta hi if i was interested in buying any torana id personally hop on a plane and inspect it myself,
your in perth i see that the gtr is also in perth,whats stoppimg u from looking at it,after all its your hard earned cash,dont get me wrong but it certanlly looks the goods, but u have to be cirtain that its real so u can sleep at night knowing u have purchased a genuine gtr,
this is exactly how buyers get burned,ive seen to many people get caught out

if your serious and your not sure what to look for then fly some one out that knows what to look for

That one appears on the VIN disc as a GTR completed in Melbourne on 30/9/70 and sold by Kevin Dennis Motors Pty Ltd. Bridge Rd, Richmond Vic during Oct '70. The original engine number is not listed but would be in the 2600S23xxx to 26xxxx range.

Cameo Gold Metallic with black vinyl trim. The numbers all accord with the build date.
