Please let me know what the following plate numbers relate to;

on back of other plate  8693

Sorry I missed your original post. What is the Chassis Number on the ADR tag and stamped into the inner guard? This will help verify the other numbers.

Hi guys, I have just bought an LJ GTR XU-1 but circumstances surrounding my mate I purchased it from have limited my ability to find out its history. Can someone put me on the right track please. Compliance plates show me this :

Body no : 507-A

Hi A9X0SS

 

Nothing about the model can be ascertained from the Chassis Number. There is no evidence of the distinctive throttle bracket that only LC GTRs. The GTR badges look to me to be fitted in the wrong place - too far back and on an angle.

 

I suggest that you email him and ask whether there are 2 brackets (a large and a small) on the boot floor near the spare wheel well. If there are 2 brackets - the car is NOT a GTR. If he was to remove the ADR tag to see the scribed number on the reverse side - its VIN can be traced.

If you zoom the 1st pic I'm pretty sure you can see the 2nd spare wheel bracket, by the roll cage leg.

Can't see it in the 3rd pic. The one with the 2 holes is not the one. It has to be triangular with a pin sticking up.

It has a standard throttle bracket (this was on all cars regardless), but I can't see the additional triangular GTR one. It doesn't look like this car is a GTR.

Agree Bazza, it's a Torana S.

If you zoom the 1st pic I'm pretty sure you can see the 2nd spare wheel bracket, by the roll cage leg.

Spot on Pete, it has both spare wheel brackets.

But interesting that both 1/4 panels have the pins for the chrome belt mouldings. Not neccessarily from factory though.

Pete, all LC Torana S 2dr & 4dr and SL Torana have the door and quarter belt stainless moudings. They weren't exclusive to 82911 models in the LC range.

I am looking at buying a GTR, all Ive got from the advert is BLJ32957A stamped in the chasis rail and the ADR plate. Is this enough info?

Currently bidding on it but want to know exactly what it is before end of auction
