Hi
I counted the late CF GTRs a number of years ago at around 660. Lots of missing engine numbers during the transition period.
Cheers Bazza
so assume a third to half of those CF LC GTR's ( about 660 ) would have been Adelaide built?
any exact numbers on Adelaide built CF LC GTR's , does this info exist? is it possible to find out

Try again.
82911CL171098 belongs to an Adelaide build GTR completed on 08/03/1971 and sold during 3/71 by dealer 151 United Motors Limited, Adelaide S.A.
The body number and chassis number align for the build period. The original engine number recorded is S0325?0. ( The number represented by ? is partly missing in the records but looks like could be a 2).
Colour is Yellow Dolly with Black interior vinyl trim

Awesome , thanks for the info , it has a 202 in it at the moment . Was it built late enough to be one of the 173 4 speed ones ?
Not a 173S. Eng #S32520 is a 2600S (161S)

Hi 2FLY.
I calculate that 345 to 350 CF GTRs were built in Adelaide. Not all cars have an engine number recorded during the transition period so it can't be established which engine was fitted. The Sydney and Melbourne plants had ceased production of LC GTRs by the time the CF came along.

Hi
The Body Number has too many digits but the Chassis Number suggests that it was completed in Brisbane around 12th August 1971. The body colour is The Lone O'Ranger. The car cannot be identified without the VIN.

Thanks Bazza,
Why would it be plated 5/70. but the serial number is saying 4/70.
Any other info you have on my car would be nice to know.

Nothing unusual there. This happened often towards the end of the month. There are also examples that go the other way - plated month earlier than completion date month.

Is there anyway i can find out the unknown vin numbers?
I imagine it goes something like 82911CH1#### ?
If you have the original engine number (and it appears on the VIN disc) the VIN can sometimes be established. If not, it is virtually impossible to establish the identity of Brisbane built cars. The selling dealer's name can often provide a clue.

Hi All,
Looking to check some numbers on an LC Torana to see if its genuinely a GTR. I've spent some time trying to read the tags, and I think I've got it correct, but have attached some photos, so feel free to have a gander!
Any information at all that can be gathered from these combinations would be greatly appreciated!!
