I'm trying to return my engine bay to the factory assembled look. My car was built September '76 as a 5 Litre M21 SS.

I'm going through what information I can find out there at the moment.

What I think is right, may not be, so I'm happy to be corrected.

What I have found so far is that the SS L31, M21 had;

1) EEC - Evaporative Control System

2) PCV - Positive Crankcase Ventilation System

3) CCS - Controlled Combustion System

4) Idle Stop Solenoid

5) APH - Air Preheat System

6) VAC - Vacuum Advance Control

I think that's it for the manuals but the Automatic cars also had;

7) EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation

Has anyone got a photo(s) of an origional July '76 onward 27A engine bay for reference?

Cheers Ando

I think the cars with A/C may have been slightly different...do you have A/C?

No..not factory AC Col.

There are signs of an after market or dealer ac fitted at some stage though.

No idea what a "Controlled Combustion System" is, never heard that term before?

Controlled combustion is probably the valve that lets the dissy gets vacuum from the manifold or from the carby above the butterfly. Something like that.

not sure if these are what you could use Ando...I have shrunk them down to allow multiple images....

These pages are for ""5 litre"" or general ""V8 engines".

There are seperate pages for 4 cyl, 6 cyl, 4.2 ltr.

regards

CCS is a combination of refinements mods (restrictions) to the Carburetor. Exhaust gas valve, Distributor & coil, Camshaft working in combination with the other systems.

I can't upload a photo of the page I lifted the info from for some reason..

Col, thanks for your effort mate.

I have a Parts Manual & have most of those details except for the Transmission Control Switch page. I see each page has ADR 27A.

My LX parts book must be an earlier revision.
