Hi guys,

Next weekend (Saturday April 1st) a friend of mine is running an awesome period type race event at 'Wilby Park', a little track near the border of NSW/VIC.

Basic rundown is:
- Pretty cheap day to flog your classic car around a track
- Low-pressure driving environment, perfect first track day for anyone
- Sprint/time-trial type configuration, no door-to-door racing, good for nice/valuable cars or timid drivers.
- Small event with generous track time
- All models of Torana accepted including UC, but need to be period style (No to big diameter modern wheels, chrome mountains out the bonnet and house of kolor, Yes to drop tanks, roll cages, 15x10"s, etc.)
- Not just Toranas obviously, vintage cars, old race specials, whatever you and your mates have as long as it fits the outlines on the website. Gotta be period stuff
- Everything in the pits will be cool and old, no tow cars ruining photos.
- Camping at the track Friday night (the best shit)
- Catering available (need to opt-in on the entry form)

A few Toranas from the forum are entered, I'm taking my 911 if I get the motor back in it soon, working my arse off ATM. Very excited.

This event is happening again on the 19th-20th of this month, for those interested.

Street Machine did a write-up at last year's event.

Man this is tempting, instead of the monbulk show. Are you heading up again? Is most of the driving on Saturday or Sunday? my son has his school festival thing on Saturday.

Any particular rules like helmets and such?

I will absolutely be there. I won't have my Torana there though, unfortunately. Just not ready for it yet. :(

The racing is all on Saturday, so that doesn't align with your son's thing well...

I'll either enter the 911 or maybe my Datsun for a laugh.

Helmet (open face is okay), fire extinguisher, and long sleeves are the main things.

I will also be there, have to beat Shannon one of these days! Obviously I'll beat Heath.

That shouldn't be too hard if he takes the 911.  After all, according to the Street Machine story above, even a "thong slapper" can beat a Porsche. :)

The thong slapper definitely does beat the Porsche, but the old 202 also struggles to beat the thong slapper.
