Finding some adaptors would be the easiest

Doubt its 1/5 npt though... thats the same thread as your temp sender... seems too small (about 9.5mm tapered thread)

Can the seller tell you the correct thread of the nuts on the pipes you bought ?

Then you need to identify the rad threads... do you have the old pipes ?

basically the way i see it provided the flare nuts are the same size on each end , all you need is four original fittings  that screw into

the transmission , 2 go in the radiator and after you remove the nipples from the transmission the other 2 can be fitted to transmission?

thanks datto, have just contacted seller to ask for threads info, awaiting response

as for 1/5, was just quoting what that radiator seller was stating theirs is/eliminates

no old pipes came with car unfortunately, would of used if could

howdy eunuch,

fancy me needing to come on forum to ask for help! whoda thunk it, aye..?! hahaha

flare nuts on pipes are all same

and....

removed nipple out of trans... and... it fits the radiator hole/s!

so, you have given me a portable way of taking CORRECT size/thread with me to pirtek!

because..

" four original fittings  that screw into the transmission"

i wish! my kingdom for 4 of those
can't find ANYONE discussing here, or elsewhere

The ones in the radiator are normally the same as stromber/Holley fittings/adaptors.
I found the adapters and a flared fuel line fitting with a barb at a local auto performance shop, then ran flexible lines.
The adaptors are often found to be brazed into the radiator as a result of a repair. Finding second hand ones is tough.
When you fit and remove the fittings I was advised to use a good ring spanner. Apparently they deform easy.
Lightly does it, so you don't damage anything.

The fact that your ebay seller lists a manual trans option for trans cooler lines indicates there probably not entirely onto it.

1/8" NPT is correct for the trans if your running a Trimatic, if that screws into the rad then thats good to.

1/2" UNF must be the thread on the flair fitting....

YOur first ebay search seems right, four of them should short you, but I may be wrong as i've never done what your doing.

cheers tony and dj. will be careful removing if find second hands,

and hoping 1/8 npt and 1/2"unf indeed right. be darn nice to just add adapters and have lines sorted.

and certainly makes my job lot easier, that now can take my trans pipes and the nipple adapter with me when go to pirtek dandenong..

and know for sure have right parts, which can all just bolt together

Welcome to the struggle, Its very rare something "just bolts up"

All I know is when I was running the braided hose for the trans cooler lines to my car I needed -6 to 1/8" NPT fittings to screw into the trans, im assuming V8 and 6 banger Trimatics have the same oil cooler fittings and if your trans fitting screwed into your radiator than it will be the same.....

Commodores usually have those nipples at trans then small length of hose to steel lines back to radiator.

Must have been bad idea as next model change was steel lines from trans onto radiator with last bit hose for engine movement.

Commodore lines would have been too long & wrong side for your car anyway.

Yeah Bomber 6 & 8 supposedly same.majority of parts so they say & true whenever hearing 'bolts straight up' means some finesse' required haha

"Some finesse" = "some extra expenditure that we didnt tell you about but we can supply the parts that you didnt get because you didnt specifically ask for them, you should have known better"

:tease:

So in the radiator you need something like this, with the flare on the female side to seal against the tube flare.
Thread seal this into the radiator.

http://www.ebay.co.u...sd=170474198890

The I used something like this and ran flexible lines: can get straight and bends.
http://www.ebay.com....N-/262335954715

They recommend double clamps when running flexinble lines.

You need to find yourself a good performance shop that sell carbs and fittings etc.
Then buy extra for next time, ha ha
I think I have one spare if you need a photo.

heya gtr, my trans came from a vb/c commodore so had the nipples and short piece of hose at trans just like you say

and bomber, been copping a LOT of "finesse" and "bolt straight up" nonsense on my travels ;)

been wondering out that, realized would at least need to make sure the pipe fitting butts up before it can screw in all the way, and a lot of teflon tape or goo.

proper grommet way seems even better, cheers for links to show examples

Should be a tag on side of trimatic..will have codes on to tell you model/specs etc.

Found out my trimatic has silly 10 tooth drive gear grrr...finesse it with a sledgie one day....

Yeah reason for nipple & hose concoction is engine movement as commodore trans lines mounted to chassis rail.
