Gotta support the local events mate. Being a springmount member will get you a small discount on entry also. Every little bit helps.
its still a rip off to race like $100 for test and tune for couple of runs.in townsville test and tune was $20 and have as many runs as you like and can raced anytime you want.

But how much does it cost you to trailer your car or drive your car to townsville? and back?
If that adds up to more than $100 then the event is free is it not?

I don't believe there is a drag strip in Townsville? I thought it closed down?
when townsville was open.it was a better run track by the organisers

i would rather pay the extra money for trailer and fuel so you can have as many races as you like.on the weekend the tempory aussies had a lot more races then the street cars.

Did you get to go for a ride? I am keen to experience 920 lb-ft of torque from zero revs.

Drove my brother-in-law's Model S when visiting Brisvegas recently - ah-maze-ing!
Like a jet on take off - the acceleration is linear and hard.
I also drove my step-father's brand new M3 - the steering on the Tesla is as good - it has great feel, weight and feedback, and the car just points and steers.
Clearly the future is here - not saying I would buy one (I have never been an early adopter of tech - just got my first smart phone after my circa 2007 Nokia 6110 Navigator gave up the ghost), but having driven it, I 'get' it now.
The big take away for me was that an old muscle car has a very apparent soul - the engine: the noise, vibration, smell, etc. whereas the Tesla is bereft of this of course, but you know what, it has a soul. I'm just sure where or what it is just yet, but it has one and it is special.
Cheers, TB
