I was out parts shopping this afternoon and was shown a block with HF XU2 stamped on it. I've been told the HF is Harry Firth and the block might have been from an XU2 prototype
Has anyone heard of a block being stamped with this before?

Probably an early 253 or mid VR onwards 304.

That's a 308 bore not 253

What is your opinion on the stamps used Dave? Authentic?
