I haven't dealt with him personally but from what I hear he never answers the phone, you need to drop in and see him.

Common with most good engine builders to not answer the phone , my engine builder uses the excuse of was on the Dyno and can,t hear it ring

easy to make mistakes from distractions when engine building- ive done it myself- losing track of torque sequence and so forth- its very annoying

Tony is still there and is very busy.
I picked up my engine from him last saturday.
He does get on the forums now and then.
Best idea would be to call in if you want to catch him

Yeah, I'm here & I'm snowed under.
Tracks opening up, new ones being built & old ones being sold to new owners with $$ (AIR, tailem bend, mallala, swan reach) has ramped up demand for engine builders enormously, unfortunately well over 10 years with very little in the way of racing facilities saw no-one new coming into the trade, a few shops closing & some of the older guys retiring with no replacements. So there arent enough of us left to meet the demand, talking to other guys in the trade they're all pulling their hair out & not knowing WTF to do as well.
I'm only taking work from existing customers & personal referances at the moment, not sure when that'll change, but more work will just put me further behind & cause more stress (which is already far too high).
Local guys that need stuff done can drop by, depending on the job I *may* be able to squeeze smaller jobs in, but no big builds for now.
I'm thinking this situation is likely to last for a while, but will eventually calm down.

Keep at it mate.
At the rate engine builders/machinists are getting worse at the trade here in QLD (opposite issue to you, to much work and to little here breeding heaps of Cunning Stunts with no frOcking idea) we will all be sending everyting to guys like you regardless of the freight costs in the not ti distant future.

I like the cunning stunts thing, got a good laugh out of that. but I agree. I'm lucky enough to have a fantastic machinist a couple of blocks away. East Coast Engine Centre right here in Nambour.
