finding good early calipers to rebuild is now the hard part. I have been looking for HQ calipers that I could afford for the truck for a while now, and found the tread on Nissan 4 spots, it would seem that it would be cheaper and better to go that way instead, with a VT commodore booster and master cylinder. the EK has SLR Torana which bolt straight on to hr stub axles, but I am considering a full LH- UC front end during rebuild with HQ disc's and again Nissan 4 spots I like to do as much as I can myself and have a decent work shop and most tools to get buy. I cant afford hoppers type kits, and don't like big Diameter hub cap looking wheels on early cars
Yeah my loooooooooong term upgrade is nissan 4 spots on VT disc's with VT master adapted to LJ booster ( its been sitting on the bench for years )
Had thicker reshaped adaptors waterjet cut (and some extras) in similar style to the CRS ones so i can mill the offset i wanted & suit the usual machined drum stubs for the 4 spots But recently have obtained some UC UCA's with disc stubs so i will look at maybe using them (when i get back around to it!!)
I wanted to improve the braking cose i wasnt impressed with commo discs all round (& cheap shit pads ) with the old single diaphragm
So now have reco double booster QFM A1R pads at both ends & am gunna test them out tomorrow at the Collie motorplex track
Hope the frOcking rain holds off
