With the mirror under it, is there something going on with the front end? What happened in '71? Who's got the CAMS amendment sheets? ADRs? Don't know much about little ones, but I know it's too early to be looking at seatbelts!

Nothing special going on with the front end, the mirror is just part of the display.
The young lady leaning against the drivers door was crowned "Queen of the Pacific 1971". Her name is Nelia Sancho from the Philippines.
This 1971 LC GTR is special because it is the first one built.......................................................................................?

Agree Col and there is no GTR badge on the grille, however, the newspaper feature claimed it is a GTR.

Ok time to save Laurie's sanity.
It was the launch of the 1st GTR assembled locally in Malaysia. It was imported by Progress motors, Singapore and assembled in Kuala Lumpur.
The display was set up at the Australian Trade Commissions showroom in Kuala Lumpur.
Also on display was a GTR XU1 that was specially built for leading Malay racer Brian Stock.
The release was covered by Singapore, Malaysian, Chinese and Tamil newspapers but the only one to print a colour photo was China Press.
Somewhere in their story I think they got the cars mixed up and the car in the photo is Brian Stock's GTR XU1.
