Thanks for the advice Rob. I remember being told a long time ago. If you employ 5 persons and receive information that four are good at there job but the other not so good at there job. Then promote that one person to organise the other four. Leaving your good personal in the field. That's why all you good workers never get promoted. Makes sense. I have employed someone to run my business. He is a numbers man, percentage man, chart man and its working well. He has 28 years experience same as myself. Difference is I read car/girl magazines and he reads the Australian Standards. Each to there own. I have never advertised in the seven years since I started my business. Word of mouth keeps me busy. Recently I have been asked to tender for national contracts but I am only SA based. Have been doing work on multi story building in the city. Tower cranes and safety in the work place. They asked for me to do ongoing training. My boss told them Ray doesn't need to do this. We understand your policy and happy for you to find someone else. We didn't fill in there contractor renewal. Received a phone call yesterday (yeah on Sat) they must have changed there policy. To be honest I don't even like work. If given a choice I would have been a Caveman . Rainman

I want my Hatchback back home so I can swear at it ...in a good way
It's been about 2 1/2 years since the Torana left for rust repairs & bodywork and adding onto that I had to wait about 12 months for Resto John to finish another car, just to stretch that time out a little further John's number was up for his shoulder reconstruction & there was a 10 month downtime in that.... Finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for this stage of the build .....bring on the end of the year when I hopefully get it back.
In this time I purchased a factory manual 91VP SS Commodore to keep me occupied, I use this as a daily driver seeing I only drive 6km to work ....Nice car to drive actually

I've been told this by management in the past. I wanted off tools and asked for a service advisors vacancy. I was told " if we take you off the floor we will have no-one with your experience". Left that job within weeks. If you employ 5 persons and receive information that four are good at there job but the other not so good at there job. Then promote that one person to organise the other four. Leaving your good personal in the field. That's why all you good workers never get promoted. Makes sense.

Probably just as well though?...…………….I hate paperwork.

Hey Guys, I did write a reply earlier today. Had a Java Script pop up URL thing and wouldn't allow me to cancel it. I had all but hit post. Aaron, I think you might be the right person to take over the Resto Rage Thread lol. Good luck with your projects. Hope the new week shines sunlight at the end of the tunnel

I look at this as a hobby. I enjoy tinkering in the garage. I love driving the car afterwards and noticing something is better or fixed. But like everyone, have been through lots of set backs, re-work and wasted money with delays, bad workmanship, etc. I've also learned that you have to be careful not to let the car become a divider in the family. Too much time on it will do that. Make sure you use it to take them places before they get too old/busy. There have been plenty of family days out and graduations, etc. They love rocking up to something like that in a special car.
Cheers, Steve.

Hey Steve, very true words. I have always been family first. Like most of us our cars only progress when time and funds are available without detracting from our family lives. That's why some builds take so long. I will enjoy involving my family when it suits all and there will be times when I will go solo to check my traction control. Think my missus is a bit jealous of my car. She doesn't like to share my attention. Over time I am sure she will understand, once I lock the car up, she will not have to compete.

Hey Members, two more days ??. received some paperwork last night. I didn't open and waited til this morning. Its the final payment on the Torrie. Must say a little concerned. It was a bit more than expected. Not like outrages. So works out I didn't keep enough funds available. Budget also took a hit. Not the end of the world. Advised my mechanic it wouldn't be week. Shit happens. Still its a nice day today, going to get out there and enjoy it. Maybe you have a bit of time to say hello to your projects. Rainman

Hello Again Resto Rage Readers, So the final collection date for my project is today. Thank you all for your support. The light at the end of the tunnel cant shine in sometimes, you have to make it shine. I didn't do much of the work myself. But I did do all the work that paid for it. I wish you all the luck in the world with your projects. I cant wait to see your projects and owner as one, under its own steam. Rainman

I think that these are still the original struts. They were never touched. That's not bad.
