I'm looking at getting a rotisserie for my Torana. How did you mount yours?

Ha Ha I bet you made a big cloud getting that all out. Unfortunately my right rear 1/4 was similar on my hatch. I am still cleaning pink bog and paint dust out of my LX 2 years later.

As far as panel beaters go.
20 years ago it is likely any repairs that were done, were done under insurance.
Having a few mates in the game back then, I can safely say that they did not get paid enough to do good repairs.
They were often directed to repair panels, rather than replace them.
If they got the go ahead to replace the panel, they were often limited to using second hand panels, which sometimes the repairer actually organised for use.
They were allocated a set number of hours to do the work.
Some of the allocated hours were more than required, quite often they were less.
To actually make money they had to get them in and out as quickly as possible.
Thats why the repairs were less than great.
Given that, I cant recall seeing any panel beater in the day going to the trouble of butt welding rust repair panels in.
Even for customers that were paying hourly.
The repairs usually consisted of a slightly oversized piece of metal behind the panel being welded in and then bog to level it.
Some of these guys were capable of doing the work perfectly. But the customer rarely wanted to open the wallet that far.
The fact the cars were actually nothing special in the day would be a reason.
Once the rust got too bad, they usually got scrapped.
Or in the case of my mate with a HK GTS Monaro, albeit a 186, it became the centrepiece to a bonfire.

Yep, that's how it was. We used to get 1 hour insurance jobs, to prep an XD bumper, color match, paint, fit and buff the entire bloody thing, before the days of couple of coats with 2 pak, all acyrlic. We had a dirty great hail storm in Orange and I've seen roofs completely covered in bog. I can only remember one car that we had to remove the hoodliner and file every hail ding out. Must have cost a fortune.

Great read and work. It's about the same as my 2 door s in the way of repairs; bent front rail and all. I have no guards . Just 2 rails forward of the firewall and the DS inner fender. Sigh.
