Hey albert, did gong give you any tips on re-installing the pins when re-assembling, which is what I need to do? (Do you just simply try and create a lip over the ends of pins with whatever metal is left after removing) Thanks paul (Not trying to hijack your thread but maybe useful for when you need to do the same)

g'day paul 

yes have to make new pins 

but the ones with the handle going to try to machine 1-2 mm 

off the collars then get them cromed 

might try roll pins for the other one

G,day all pulled the mirror apart for repairs and chroming. Found this inside!
18/7/71 as far as I know it is the original mirror

As far as I know LC has the round mirror and only one hole in the door . I can take a pic of mine if you like. Maybe a change over thing?

Was the HQ rect mirror mounted to the std LC mirror stem?

g'day all getting parts zinc plated 

i noticed that a couple of the accelarator rods arms are gold zinc 

so is it all gold or silver or mixture  :dohdoh:

Thought they had two, one for the screw and another for the locator on the stem.

I think the LC door mirror is the same as the HR and the LJ got the HQ mirror.

sorry my mistake ! mine only had the round mirror 

but when stripping for crome in my parts i found a mirror with the same stork 

but a rectangle one . had a brain faideeeee ;)  :tease:  :banghead:

I think this is the LC mirror bat. Also on EH, don't know about HR. There is as small hole aft of the bolt hole in the door.ae32c112b88dc173b0b4e37b048c4448.jpg
