KBS have an engine enamel, Motor Coater. Rocket Red appears very close to the early red motor colour 64 through HKTG at least. It is almost orange really.cb48832df6f7daa1e56400993d4f2a83.jpg

G,day all
this is the spec,s for the new cam 195a747e33b54c996a6d00e46abdad8b.jpg
Can’t decide on valve springs standed or heavier
What I have read is that the 161s and the 173 s are the same cam and use v8 springs
So is this right

AFAIK the LC GTR did not use V8 valve springs. The XU1 did however the 186S, 2600S & 2850S did use valve springs that were better than the std offering.

Even a stock six benefits from fitting so called double valve springs. Which is why they were fitted to blue and black motors from factory. Eliminates valve bounce.

That is 100% correct and exactly the same for the 2600S.

Clive Cams would have supplied Valve Springs to suit your cam if you requested.

just spoke to clive ,

asked about suppling springs , they don't supply but will recomend strength

told him the 173s specs , he stated that i would be crazy to go any stronger

as the standard 173s spec is more than ample

Thats Interesting....because 2 cam shafts i have bought from Clive, i have requested he supply valve springs to suit and lifters, all have come supplied by Clive Cams.

Im not saying he is the Manufacturer of the springs....

Extract below, from last year email.

As requested, please find attached spec sheet for the Wade 391 profile on a Holden 6 cyl camshaft.

Prices are as follows:

Holden 6 Cyl Cam Billet $Xxx.00

Set of Cam Followers $Xxx.00

Set of Valve Springs $Xxx.00

Maybe he has stopped supplying springs.
