Having completed this mod only recently. This is what works for my setup New undrilled HQ disk Removed 3mm from radius of disk. This gave us a fitted hq cast caliper. For thermal expansion we removed another 1mm from radius of disk total 4mm.Redrilled caliper to suit flexible brake line to top of caliper as per L34.LX steering arms replaced with UC tie rod interferance issues with lx ones.Redrilled disk to suit torana PCD.With new disk maching to center hub was not needed as no wear step issue.Caliper does sit close to hub but no issue. From memory had to grind with new disk minimal amount to stub, where caliper seats to lx stub to allow bolt hole alignment. All fits with no issues although car is still to move under its own steam. We will monitor the caliper disk expansion issue for any signs of contact. It may be that we will remove more as machining outside radius is a simple task if you have access a lathe.Reason being trying to retain the biggest dia possible with safety in mind.

Great Work,
and the Explanation.
.All fits with no issues although car is still to move under its own steam.

6mm is the recommended figure.
But you probably knew that already.

Yep. But one issue I have is crossed drilled disks trying to keep a bit of meat from outer holes.Plus orignally reading this conversion there was confusion to what radius or Diameter is so we went with 6mm diameter which equates to 3mm radius. And just so happened caliper fitted with a slight touch. You can always remove more but its a bit harder to wack it back on especially cast.

12 mm from diameter, 6mm from radius.

Im sure it was 1/2 of six we took off being the minimal amount due to the confusion of 6 off the Dia or Rad. But I maybe wrong.Bit hard to confirm as Im out of the country working for two more months.I will measure once back in Aust.

Nice, Cool, and we all will be waiting Shaun Bud.

OK job finished early thank fuc. Bugger this cold tho.Now this is what I have 014 DBA disk machined DIA to 270mm measured with tape measure. Original manufactured DIA 276mm. Now bear in mind Im using Hq cast calipers as stated they fit with a slight interference but not enough to stop disk turning or fitment to car.I will be removing more but not the recommended 6mm off radius or 12mm off DIA.Thermal expansion will determine the amount to be taken off.I cant see the disk growing in RAD of 3mm I may be wrong but I cant see me using the disk till it glows. So there it is with my setup only 3mm removed to allow fitment still to remove 1mm from radius for growth and monitor and rectify if needed.

1mm from radius for growth and monitor and rectify if needed.
Good work SS,
Steel expands 1 thou for every inch in diametre when heated, so your disc should grow 11 thou of an inch total.
which is 0.28 of a millimetre in diametre

Yep it expands contracts but different types different growth to heat.Have to deal with this as my job involves extensively with alignment and growth.Even to where sun impacts on setting gears, to doing the alignments at night.Dealing with Thous or hundredths of a inch over 10 m dia gears.

10 metre diametre gears Shaun,
You must be good, no-one can just walk in and do that job.

Landed in Kalgoorlie 1989 done the hard yards but now reap the rewards pitty work wouldnt leave me alone sometimes, so I could get the torana rolling faster than its happening comming on 8years parked up now. Mighten be any fuel when its rolling again.

he he, will have to make your own Fuel,
Have you got any pictures of the conversion setup.
got my eye on the WB Tonner
