Billy, it's all part of owning these cars... Have a look at the start of this thread. Back when I was young and dumb () I was sure it was gunna be finished in a matter of months and abot $3000. 4 years and about $4k later and I'm almost getting close to seeing the end of the first tunnel...

They're a snug fit, but they clear everything everywhere. I love it.

I think the reason I haven't been motivated to do much is that there isn't anyone local to me... No car shows, no cruises, no car clubs, even just to see a Torana on the road happens about 3 times a year around here...

Clear indicators for the front, door pins and mounts for my GTS mirrors. $200 well spent

[EDIT- No idea why this pic won't rotate...]
Blue 202. The first engine I've had on my stand that I built in year 12 (2008!), all looks good so far
And I've pulled the shifter apart to tighten it up a bit...

Engine is now stripped of all of it's peripherals Next I'll pull the head off and see how it looks inside.
Shifter is back together and tighter than ever

It is a lot easier to see progress happening when you're doing mechanicals haha

Looks like some work is finally getting done Timmy. Would be good to see you again sometime soon, met up with paul (Dickiep) the other day, was really good to have a chat with another little torana owner with ideas and plans.
Got a set of calipers here for your disc f/e if you're keen.
keep posting up buddy!

I finally got the shifter back in and adjusted tonight, it feels good Had to fix one of the plastic linkage thingies, bit of Loctite 406 should do the trick. Apart from that it was pretty smooth sailing.
Worked out the other day that I cut my shifter hole in the wrong spot... Stupid me decided to use an LC patch to mark out the hole, without realising that the LC shifter hole is to suit an Opel 'box... Had to lengthen the hole a bit further back, and I'll weld a bit back in at the front to keep the hole as small as possible...

Spewin' about the shifter hole hey. Does that mean they are all to suit the opel box?

I assume that the late LC's (such as yours) have the same floorplan as the LJ. The earlier LC's all had a hole cut for a floorshift from factory, and the column shift cars had a plate bolted over it. The late LC's and LJ's didn't have a hole unless they were factory floorshift cars, AFAIK...

I'll be in Adelaide to see Pendulum at the end of October, then again a week later for the All Torana Day

Borrowed a board file from a mate, getting stuck into a bit of body work again, armed with something I didn't have the first time around: some idea of what I'm supposed to be doing. I've given up on trying to get my mate to help, just gunna do it myself and see how I go...
No pics until there is primer over the bog, this car is embarrasingly wavy...

Man I know how that feels ! I spent a fair bit of time "repairing" bits on my car without guidance. Whilst I learnt a fair bit trying myself, it's far better now I have actually had some decent pointers from someone who knows what they are doing.
Good stuff mate, keep at it !

Spent the best part of yesterday getting #@$^%& around... Run out of MIG wire, and noone in town had what I need. Ran out of bog, same story. Local crash shop doesn't want to help at all because I am 'stealing business from them' by doing it myself... Eventually had to drive to Pt. Augusta (180km away) to get bog, thinners and primer. I love living in the country sometimes!
Will get some pics up tonight.
