I remember hearing Henry was a prick of a boss, but then it was hard times. Good bosses came last and he wasn't there to make friends. He was there to make Model T cars and that he did.

He was a tight arse too.

The crates the engines got transported in were designed specifically and then were used as a seat base if I remember an article I read years ago correctly.

He certainly had a major impact on the way the world progressed though.

Don't forget the two cities he built in Brazil for rubber production. Belterra and Fordlandia. Both were closed down by Ford by 1946, with Belterra carrying on creating its own industries, while Fordlandia lay abandoned in the jungle until the early nineties.

On this day, (4-10) WikiLeaks was launched onto the world wide web. And it still carries on today.  Two weeks ago they released a secret document from the ICC portaining a dispute over commission payment in relation to a 3.6 billion dollar arms deal. Julian Assange still shitting bricks.

Was in Singapore only recently and journeyed out to the Old Ford Factory there. They were really only assembled there. Basically the place is in the middle of the island and easy to get to.
Closed down in the 60s or 70s I think.
But it is of very historic significance as this was the place where Commonwealth forces surrender to the Japanese in Februay 1942. Around 120 K Allied Troops were beaten into surrendering by an army numbering around 30 K.
This place is now a very informative museum with entry at $S3.
Very worth spending a couple of hours here. Of interest, the table where Percival signed the surrender document in 1942 is now with the Australian WAr Memorial in Canberra.
