Hi all ,I'm thinking about buying a VE Calais, problem is it's a 2006,but it's only done 80,000ks and is quite immaculate one owner,V8,they are asking $15,000 ,they are in not hurry to sell ,it was I who approached them .Is this too expensive ? Thoughts appreciated Paul.

Paul, back in 2015 when we were looking at VE SV6's car yards were asking 17 - 18k for 2009 models with around 70 - 80,000 km's on them. And I can tell you these cars looked like they had been used to do the school run and the soccer mum's had way too much bling wrapped around their fingers.

I reckon 15k for an immaculate low km 2006 VE V8 Calais would be worth it.

If they tried to trade that in on a new car the car yard would give them 10 K if their lucky
just sayin

So true but alas they are not trading it in. If you had this Calais for sale would you sell it for only 8 -10k?  I'll bet not!

You would do some research and base your asking price on what similar cars are being advertised for by the Dealers and other private vendors.

Thanks for the opinions guys , $15000 asking price may be a bit rich for a 2006 I was thinking more like $13000 ,I quite like the VE always have .There was a VE Calias for sale at a Perth dealer recently,I enquired about it ,by the time I got there to have a look it had sold ,advertised for $9990 ,it had 130000ks.

Naturally you would try to negotiate a better price. Make them an offer and give them some time to think about it.

First year build VE.

They must be rare in W.A because on the East coast they would struggle to get 8k. Struggle even to get 6k.

It's a VE. Without a HSV badge they have no value.

You'd pay more than 30,if it was a ve hsv trust me. 12 - 13, for a low klm car that will be pretty much trouble free, would be a good thing. Being a Calais & v8, is what keeps the price up a bit.

I'd be happy with that. I see it has rear parking sensors. Does the Calais also come std with Sat Nav?
