I have seen similar clips like that on LC -LJ seats ,holding the vinyl on to the seat frame.

Another question....

Do all three flaps in the heater box have foam on them,

and if so do they have foam on both sides?

Regards Mando.

Got the instrument cluster back.

Everything has been rebuilt and calibrated to be the same as when the car was new.

Great work Mando, your car is beautiful>

Those brake lines are prefect, well done getting such a short radius on them, at least lock down has some positives!

Cheers, Tom

Hi all,

I put my heater box and controls in today.

I got my upholsterer to wrap the flaps in felt in stead of foam.

I also installed the bonnet catch with some spacers I had made.

The bonnet latch on the bonnet wouldn't line up with the female part on the body.

Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Nice work on the spacers. They are very elegant although I have no idea why they were needed.

Sounds totally bizarre, surely something has been changed for that affect? Is the radiator support straight?

I didn't realise you could zinc coat diecast material like the front of the heater control, is that what we are in-fact looking at?

Super tidy restoration work.

Hi Heath,

Cast can be zinc coated.

Body is good but I can't work out why I have this problem.

The latch on the bonnet is new from Rare Spares, and I have two brackets that bolt to the body

and both fit the same.

Have looked at LOTS of pictures of other cars, and I have never seen another car with this problem.

Joe,

I don't know what KHRL-12 is.

My shocks are Viking and the springs are Kings.

Picked up the seats from the upholsterer the other day.

Really happy with what he has done.

Joe,
I don't know what KHRL-12 is.
My shocks are Viking and the springs are Kings.

I haven't figured out the context of Joe's reply, but he's talking about your rear coil springs that do look like a Kings spring (KHRL-12 is just a typical 'low' Torana rear spring), that would look exactly like yours.

Brad,

I have no idea.

I'll ask the instrument guy, but as long as it works it won't bother me.

It might over-read?

Thats a huge amount of spacing needed on that bonnet catch? Surely the radiator support is bent?

Edti: the fan finger guard usually sits on first providing some spacing.

Had a look at a couple of hatches.

Striker plate A measures 11cm

Front of radiator support to flat inside of nosecone B measures 11.3 - 11.7cm

Front of radiator support to tip of nosecone C measures 21.8 -22.0 cm

See if these align with yours.

Do you have a picture of the striker mounted to the bonnet?

Brad,

I not sure what you mean by

" the fan finger guard usually sits on first providing some spacing "

Rexy,

thanks for taking those measurements and posting.

The measurements on my car are

A 11cms

B 12cms

C 20cms

I get 20 cms for C and you have 22 cms. I don't know where I lost 2 cms.

I have elongated the holes in the bonnet latch so it goes back as far as possible.

These measurements are spot on.

The finger guard fits on first which provides some default spacing.

Brad,

I see what your talking about now.

You are right, that would pick up 2-3 mm.

My spacers are 7.5 mm.

I still can't work out why Rexy gets 22 cms for C on his diagram,

and mine measures 20 cms.

Regards Mando.

Its pretty thick that plate. Perhaps 4-5mm? Does the bonnet close ok and dosnt foul on the nosecone or windscreen valance?

Id say the radiator support is slightly bent inwards?
