Love the detailed pics. Thought you had two hatches on the go then read the first was stolen! This looks like it will turn out a quality build. Good stuff.

Jeff, great progress, where did you get the bracket for oil reservoir from. ( I take it that reservoir is from Mal wood)

The reservoir comes from Wilwood.
I bought one from Mal Wood when I bought my gearbox, the quality was not good.
I also bought the pedal assembly from him as well.
The welding and painting were shocking so I pulled it down and re built it.
It came up a treat.

Looks Great Mando. Can wait to see the finish product.
I like the look of that brown davis drop tank.
1) Did you get the one with EFI submersible pump too?
2) What is the size of your exhaust pipe mate, can you fit the 3 inch pipe there without hitting the tire?

Hi Joe,
the tank came with a VE pump installed.
Brown Davis did a fantastic job with the tank.
My exhaust is 2 1/2", I have no idea if a 3" system would fit.

What’s the colour called. Please don’t say “orange”!
#138

Rexy,
it's not orange, it's Valencia Orange which was a colour available in the paint range back in 1977.
It is 2-pack but has no metallic.
My painter thought I was joking when I asked him not to gap the panels and I wanted orange peel in the paint finish.
He said in all the years he's been in business, no one has asked for that.

Paint looks good Mando but that colour does seems to be a bit on the red side for Valencia Orange maybe its the lighting in the booth I’m not sure
maybe outside in natural light might be different
either way love the colour

I really hate to mention this ; & i love the build ; but the blackouts aren't right . Sorry .

Thank's Col,
I know the blackouts aren't right.
I've looked at lots of pictures of hatches, and there are a few that have black around the body behind the top of the door.
Not the way it came from the factory.
I'm still deciding whether to paint it orange as it should be, or leave it black.
I really don't mind the black.
Regards Mando.

I painted mine the same way, hated seeing the orange around the doors.

Mine was painted that way also and probably will be again when it's painted again.
