Weather turned it on for my last real paint day, had 25 degrees last Saturday so perfect for getting the stripes done.

One of the reasons I did them in semi-gloss was to create a difference between the black and Amethyst. With certain angles of light the black stripes look silver. If I'd of glossed them they would have been harder to see.

Just had to get the badge and handle on for a look. The orange goes really well with Amethyst.

I bought some more parts last week. One a bulk buy of all his left over parts and the other was just bits I needed.

You don't get much for $975 these days.

Bugger! Obviously didn't know what I was looking at there. Just thought mines missing that, I'll buy it.

The grill and Aussie rebuild kit were my main priority.

I plan to restore the LC lower dash and hopefully recoup some money. I also think the small belt buckles are hard to find so they might help as well. There's a NOS muffler hanger in there too but don't see much demand for those. NOS wiring harness tape will get used soon.

Grill has a few broken and missing bits but plan is to fix that and keep as spare. I'm going to order a jewellers oxy torch and get some practice fixing the bars.

Fairly sure the spare wheel bracket is the same for HK HT HG and there is a market for them.

I finished off my modification of the clutch pedal and assembled the unit and accelerator pedal.

I took my brake and clutch pedal assembly to an engineering shop and they modified and made bronze bushes. It feels so much better abd has no sloppy sideways movement. When I pulled it back apart to get powder coated it was fortunate that I'd taken photos of how to put it back together.

Well there ya go. I've got a NOS 4cyl spare wheel clamp screwed to a stud as a hanging hook..

Just had a look at the HK parts catalogue. Nope, the LC LJ 4cyl spare wheel clamp part number is not shared with any models in the HK series.

So highly likely it does not feature in HT or HG either.

It's the Penrite white grease. I wouldn't recommend it, it's a food grade grease. I would of preferred the zinc oxide that Spack pictured above but could not find any.

Is this suitable for the door mechanisms too?

Time to restore the wiper motor.

I found this stuff very good for cleaning up the dull zinc/galv finish.

Attached File  IMG_6747 (1).jpeg   196.33K   4 downloads

One of the brushes had worn down so I bought some more that were close in size. Had to file it down to fit.

Once it was all together I tested it with my test kit, an old switch and wiring plug connected to a battery. I use tape markers to confirm they park in the correct spot.
