I wouldnt shoot clear through a 1.4, max 1.3
Hi Adam, yes I heard 1.3mm was recommended but just thought is it worth buying a new gun for .1 ????
Thanks for input.

You may be able to buy a new nozzle, needle and air cap.

What sort of gun do you have Marty?
You may be able to buy a new nozzle, needle and air cap.
Star 4000 something. I first bought this gun with 1.8 expecting to buy a 1.4 later as suggested by paint shop. When the time came to buy the 1.4 the paint shop couldnt supply or was more expensive than a new gun. I bought another Star with a 1.4 and never shop at that store again!

Try backing the fluid off half a turn & bump up the pressure a little, you're probably just getting a double up on the curved edges which is easy to do. If you don't get it fully sorted by that, pick up your spray speed a smidge. But try the others first. Technically the bottom of the tank gets some black anyway.
That's meant for Marty, but on this topic.

Awesome work Marty!
I've been away for a while so I got to binge the whole build to date and it's just as impressive as the last one. Solid effort!

Thanks Gary, I think this could be the way to go. Question- Isn't the tank silver underneath??
Another coat of primer. I also fitted the trim rivets.
Again set the side line this time using fine line tape.
Rubbed back a few more panels

Had another set-back. Read somewhere that the passenger door mirrors are un-usable in the position I positioned it. Decided to delete the LH mirror so welded up the holes and patched it up.

Time to prep the car for final touch-ups of black underneath where I got overspray on and the engine bay. I'm going to drop the car down lower for final paint so this is my last chance to spray under here.

Also painted the bottom of sills because I remember I missed some bits on the LJ due to it being hard to work upside down.

Time to lower the car. Borrowed another set of stands and the mission was how to get it down to the shorter legs. Used my hydraulic trolley and all went well.

Thanks for the replies guys. Is always good to hear from people who are actually looking at this thread. Definitely a long slog on the sanding and re-sanding etc which can become boring for viewers. Hopefully that's about to change as we get read for colour.
