I came across my compression tester when tidying up the garage so did a test on my motor

I tested with a warm motor and got

150

135

140

140

140

150

The cam is a 107 LSA with 254 duration

Do the results above seem o.k?

I just went through them again and number two was up to just over 140 as well.

I think they seem good.
You really need to know your static compression though to know if they reflect right and how much that cam bleeds off.
If it's only moderate then those numbers are fine. If you have a big static number I would say those figures are down.
Regardless, I think your good.

If you do a warm wet test (bit of oil down each plug hole) and the figures are much the same then you are all good.

Thanks mate

I'll do a wet test next time I take it out just to be sure

It doesn't burn any oil so I think it's pretty healthy

Within 10% so looks decent as said above warm it up do dry test then wet test couple drops of oil from squirter can.

General idea is If goes up means some ring wear if stays same valve or seat assuming not adjustable rockers.

i've started getting my car read for XU1's on the Mountain at Bathurst this year.

I've fitted a 2.5 inch side pipe and steel rims to give it a racier look and sound

Started to get the car ready for the Torana Nationals in Canberra.

After I drove it from Sydney to Albury for Torana's on the Murray I decided the 3.55's aren't for me as the revs were a bit too high.

I picked up a 3.36 LSD and had it freshened up and fitted it on the weekend so it should be a bit nicer on the highway now

On the highway drives the motor was pushing a little bit of oil out of the breathers so I have now fitted a Bocam catch can to match the rocker cover.

Hopefully that will help on my drive to Canberra for the Nationals

Good to see you out enjoying it Matt. Taller diff may help ease the oil venting.

I picked up some 13 x 7 and 13 x 9 wheels this weekend.

They were a great price and have been unused.

The new 13 x 7's for the front stick out quite a lot and as my car is lowered at the front it actually sat on the tyre.

My old rears were also 13 x 7's but a different offset that still keeps the wheel tucked under the guard so I ended up using them so no need to change springs or even roll my guards and so far I have no rubbing.

Pretty stoked with how they look

Hi Matt, I've got the 13 x 7 on the front and super low springs but never touched tyre. Something doesn't seem right?

215/50 Dunlops

Does look good though.

They look like they might be zero offset. I assume you are both running factory spindles, hubs brakes.

Hi mate, I had a look at your photos and my car sits lower than yours in the front by the looks of it.

Hi mate,

I have purchased a few sets of these recently manufactured Sprinters in the last few years.

From memory the fronts are normally  "6", ( as marked on the boxes/labels)...which upon inspection appears to be as simple as 6mm has been milled off the inside of the centre hub.

Apologies if you already know that.

I was actually surprised how much further the fronts stuck out compared to the rears.

It looked a bit odd when you looked down the side of the car.

My old 13 x 7's made the front perfectly inline with the rears now.
