Thanks for your comments, It's so good to get the car to this point. The question is what did it cost? I purchased a written off VU SS ute. A UC Hatchback and a LH sedan donor car. Stripped them down and kept what I needed and sold off the rest. Then as I needed parts I made mad love to ebay and Rare Spares. The exhaust and sump plate and gear box cross member mods $5000.00, Interior $7000.00, Steering and engine bay easy 10K. The paint job was a token of the cost and my hours I can't imagine. I'm in there for about 65K (the wife thinks 30K). Numbers aren't the point, this is my car and I'm keeping it.

And if you took your labour into account you could easily double that figure and yet there are people spending 30k on rusted out rubbish and think they are going to get them back on the road.

Hi everyone, I haven't given any updates in a while. I have been busy looking for a shed with a house attached to it.I have had the workshop for 15 years and it was a great fit for work and car building, you could make noise all night. I want my toys at home so it's time to move. After a year of looking the right place turned up and it was time to clear out the workshop. Daimon came to help and the Bedford was very handy.

The shed is 6 x 9 meters with a clearance span of 4 meters to the truss's. I knew the hoist would fit but it was tight, I had to lift a sheet of iron to get the left post into position. I have removed the wood heater (floor space is more important) I will remove the flue later.

While I was cleaning out the workshop I found this...

The only way to take her to her new home is in style, I love the pic's on the Bedford (it's still my screen saver on the laptop)

We got her home safe and with a few thumbs up on the way.

We arrived at the new place and time to welcome her home. It's a great feeling to be able to look out the back door and see her. I have never had enough space at the houses I've lived at to be able to do that.

Aaaaaawesome! Been keen as for an update on this.

I'm currently focused on getting my own shed as well. These things do not come easy but I am expecting it'll be pretty satisfying.

After the car's first show we have sold our house and moved into our shack about an hour away from the workshop for about 10 months (while searching for the right house shed combo) Very little happened to the Hatch during this time. I would check on it probably once a month. After we moved into the new place and the dust settled it was time to get into the Engineering Certification. First up was the brake test. I had booked half a day track time at Baskerville Raceway just outside of Hobart to be able to get it done, I was very nervous about this, I haven't had the Hatch out of second gear before let alone see what happen at 100km/h. The test required ten runs of 0 - 100km/h in a row with an inertia meter in the car to measure the stop time. I was impressed with the torque as you powered through the gears but I only has ears for strange noise's waiting for something to go south. She passed like laxatives, the Hoppers Stoppers kit is awesome, it did start to smell like brakes in the car after a while. Daimon came along as pit crew and took a couple of Videos.

Please have a look at the Hatch under steam

That first one is a ripper. I didn't even know Baskerville was still operating.
