Hey fella, I have been busy working on the finish list and it's a lot shorter now. The door weather strips took two weekends of being gentle, then Daimon came around and 2 hours later they were on. I've learnt to be patient with interior guys (or face a murder charge) The bottom line is I'm going to debut the car on March 14th (Toranarama, Tas Auto Museum) The glass is all in and the interior will be finished next week!!! It won't be registered so she's a trailer queen. I'll post some pics when it's a bit more together.

We have traction with the fit out, Steve came around on Saturday and trimmed the boot, fitted the door cards and squeezed the console in without any pain, the seat belts came today so I fitted the rear ones in tonight. Front seats soon and then we are taking...

Hi Harvey,
are the seat belts your old ones reconditioned or are the new?
If they are new, what brand are they and where did you get them?
Regards Mando.

Hi Mando, They are new from Rare Spares and are a great replacement for the originals. The big problem is you need to use your original bolts (the ones they supply are smaller and don't fit the threads) So you need to drill the sleeves to make the bolts fit.

I have replaced the front and rear springs and this time I chose red. Pedders sport rides 30mm lowered. The bumpers and grill are in. (I really want a silver one but this is cool for now) The number plates are for the show, Copping Performance was a one man Speed shop in a country town we grew up in. The guy was a mentor for Daimon and he passed away to soon. Daimon asked to use his logo on any projects that would fit Greg's approval. So I'm very proud to have this opportunity.

The Hatch is ready for the show Steve has finished the interior, Pro Automotive have given it a rough tune ( It will be dyno tuned soon) I now have a ride height I'm happy with, It will need to be higher to pass rego but that's cool. The Hatch has had it's first wash in the 9 years I've had it !!! This has been a personal journey to create my own dream car and I'm very proud to put my name to it. Thanks to everyone for your support and advise. Engineering next...

Hi Tom, everything is not as it seems, The tune guy told me I only have 10 volts at the ECU so I have a volt drop problem, The accelerator cable is only giving me half throttle (I need to find a replacement) the idle air control is not responding to the ECU the horn doesn't work and a few other items. So basically it was good enough to drive on to a trailer. I have a bit of work to go in finishing project, The show dead line was helpful in completing the inside and giving me a finish list.

Daimon was my pit crew and we made a 6 hour return trip to the show in Launceston, I loved the experience and meet some local Torana nuts. A great day and plenty of cool cars

Had to put a relay on my main power wire as was always having 12 volt issues to the computer, now I have carbies and no injection, have none of those issues any more, much simpler life, just a huge fuel bill!

Thanks for your comments, It's so good to get the car to this point. The question is what did it cost? I purchased a written off VU SS ute. A UC Hatchback and a LH sedan donor car. Stripped them down and kept what I needed and sold off the rest. Then as I needed parts I made mad love to ebay and Rare Spares. The exhaust and sump plate and gear box cross member mods $5000.00, Interior $7000.00, Steering and engine bay easy 10K. The paint job was a token of the cost and my hours I can't imagine. I'm in there for about 65K (the wife thinks 30K). Numbers aren't the point, this is my car and I'm keeping it.
