Acrylic, ask the paint shop if they have some 'flex aid' which apparently helps when painting plastic they will add it into the paint. Always use an adhesion promoter, usually in an aerosol can just before applying the paint. NO primer.
Works pretty well. One of my armrests was originally black but I painted it chamois using this method.

If it's a ' concourse resto ' as you say , you will never match the grain.
Swap it with someone who has a sedan.
